Joseph Fioraliso, New Jersey Comissioner of Public Utilities, will speak to the Livingston League of Women Voters about the rising cost of energy and the future of alternative energy in New Jersey. The meeting will be Wednesday, November 18, 8 PM at the Livingston Community Center, lower level, 204 Hillside Avenue. Bring your concerns and questions. This is a free public meeting. The event will conclude with refreshments and an opportunity to speak informally and individually with Commissioner Fioraliso.

The Livingston League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women are sponsoring a Candidates' Night for District 27 State Assembly on Wednesday, October 14 at 8:00 pm in the Livingston High School Chorus Room. District 27 covers most of Essex County.

 

The candidates are incumbent Democrats John McKeon of West Orange and Mila Jasey of South Orange, and challengers Barry Funt of Livingston and Mark Meyerowitz of West Orange.

 

The four candidates will respond to two questions prepared in advance, and then to audience questions. Livingston TV 34 will record the event. For more information, call 973 994-1935. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will follow.

The Livingston League of Women Votes will hold a voting information public meeting
Wednesday evening, September 16, at the Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue
lower level, 8 PM.  Charles Downing, Livingston High School history teacher will discuss
the roles of the November candidates, provisional ballots, write-ins and other aspects of
the upcoming election.  He calls his presentation "CIVICS 101".

Everyone is welcome.  Refreshments will follow.-

LIVINGSTON LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS presents Town Attorney Shari Weiner,

"The Women's Political Caucus of NJ" on Wednesday, May 20


The League will hold its annual dinner meeting on May 20, 7:00 pm

at Il Viccolo restaurant, 113 South Livingston Ave.

 

At 8:00 pm, Livingston Township Attorney and former Mayor Shari Weiner

will talk about"The Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey,"

which seeks to increase the number of women in elected and appointed office.

Anyone interested in the League or running for public office is welcome to attend. The fee is $25.

Wednesday evening, February 11, 8:00 PM  at the Senior Community Center 204 Hillside Avenue

on the following topic: "Should Probationers and Parolees Have the Right to Vote?"

Anyone who is interested in this topic, or the Livingston League of Women Voters is welcome.

Members will reach a consensus, along with other local leagues in New Jersey,

and will join other organizations concerned with this issue.
